The cffdrs package allows R users to calculate the outputs of the two main components of the Canadian Forest Fire Danger Rating System (CFFDRS): the Fire Weather Index (FWI) System and the Fire Behaviour Prediction (FBP). These systems are widely used internationally to assess fire danger (FWI System) and quantify fire behaviour (FBP System). 

 

Through the cffdrs package, the authors provide a portal for not only a collection of R functions dealing with all available components in CFFDRS but also a platform for various additional developments that are useful for the understanding of fire occurrence and behaviour.  more...
